avast! Standard Suite
avast! Standard suite is a cost effective solution that provides you with a solid antivirus protection for Windows-based servers and workstations (Windows 95/98/ME and NT4/2000/XP/2003).
It consists of the following components:
- avast! Professional Edition (or, avast! NetClient Edition for the use with ADNM) for the protection of workstations,
- avast! Server Edition (or, avast! NetServer Edition for the use with ADNM) for the protection of servers, and
- avast! Distributed Network Manager (ADNM) for central administration.
Please note that the Standard Suite does not contain any protection of mail servers (such as Exchange or Linux MTA's). For a more complete solution, please consider the other avast! suite offerings - the Advanced and Enterprise Suites.
avast! Standard Suite is offered from 10 licenses (which covers up to 10 machines of which up to two are servers). Generally, the maximum number of servers is determined as a number of suite licenses, divided by ten, plus one. For example, a 24-license Standard Suite lets you cover up to 3 servers. A 100-license pack covers up to 11 servers, and so on.

Pricing example
Your company is using 30 workstations with Windows XP and 4 Windows 2003 Servers. Traditionally, you'd need to purchase 30 licenses of avast! Professional Edition and 4 licenses of avast! Server Edition.
That is, for a 1-year contract, you'd pay for 4 avast! Server Editions (4 x $339) and 30 avast! Professional Editions (30 x $20.95) - i.e., the final price would be $1984.50.
If you take the Suite approach, however, you'll simply pay for 34 licenses of the Suite, that is 34 x $34.95 = $1188.30. This is a $796.20 (40%) saving!
Volume discounts
As you can see from the table above, the price per license decreases with the number of licenses. In some cases, it is even true that you can purchase more licenses cheaper! For example, imagine you need a protection for 45-node network for 1 year. The list price of 45 licenses of avast! Standard Suite is 45 x $34.95 = $1572.75; however, 50 licenses of the same product cost 50 x $29.95 = $1497.50 - i.e. less! So, in this case, please make an order for 50 licenses and you'll save. You don't have to use the licenses at this moment, but as your business grows they may become handy in the future.
